“No weapon formed against you will prosper” is one of those scriptures that can often be used in a very cliche manner…
Car Trouble?…No Weapon formed against you will prosper
Difficulties at Work?….No Weapon formed against you will prosper
We hear it so often it can be very easy to disregard its power. However, just because it may be used in a cliche manner, doesn’t mean that any of its truth or the power behind it is void. Many preachers will point out that, the word didn’t say weapons wouldn’t form, it says they won’t prosper. Which is critical to understand but challenging to remember in the midst of the forming weapon(s).
In the middle of a challenge, how do you deal? How do you cast your care on Him when everything around you looks bleak?
For me, it changes, sometimes I’m right on it…and am able to go right to the word and ground myself in it…and other times… I freak out, [first] and then once I settle I go to God in prayer. I’d like to say that going to God first is what I do most of the time but in all honesty, it is a work in progress. However, what I’m learning is that the more you go through challenges and triumph in His name, the easier it is to cast your cares, and trust that “if he did it before, he’ll do it again.” If he delivered you from the car trouble once he can do it again; if he delivered you from one challenging work situation he can do it again. And the quicker you’re able to remember your past victories, the easier it may be to ground yourself when the storms raise.
One way I’m working to remember these victories is to write them down and reflect on them. So if you’re going through a trial I encourage you to reflect on a challenge that He has delivered you from in the past. Write it down and dwell on the goodness of God.
Don’t focus on the challenge today. Focus on the victories of the past and stand, Steadfast, on the promise that indeed No weapon formed against you will prosper through the power of Jesus Christ. (Today’s shareable graphic & encouraging songs will hopefully help you do just that!)
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. – Isaiah 54:17 (KJV)
