7 | Promises of God | You can Get up When You Fall

In this season of life, I am really working on speaking life. Into myself, into my situations, and into the people around me. I’m not terribly cynical but when I’m stressed or tired I can be a bit more sarcastic, while I’m not often rude, my sarcastic words spoken out of frustration are definitely not bringing glory to God.

Yesterday, at 9:30 am I made the goal to only speak words that glorify God, and by 10:30 am I had already said something that was not positive lol…yes, ladies and gentlemen, in 60 short minutes I had already taken a misstep. And I felt so condemned and as I was beginning to beat myself I stopped (by His grace) and began to talk to God. I repented to Him, and then apologized to those I’d spoken to sarcastically. On my way back to my chair I began humming “…we fall down, but we get up…”

Music is instrumental in my life…Get it, instrumental 🙂 …but seriously, it’s instrumental because sometimes I’m not always quick to think of the right scripture, but I am quick to think of a relevant song. As I sang Donnie McClurkin’s – We Fall Down in my head I wondered if there were scriptural bases for the lyrics, and through Google found this:

for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes. -Proverbs 24:16 (NIV)

If When you fall remember you can ALWAYS get back up.
